Deadly Scotch?

24 May

Yesterday I posted about a nut job who apparently whipped up an OJ and Rubbing Alcohol cocktail and left it a Starbucks. Scary. But now it seems that TGI Fridays and other restaurants in New Jersey might have done the same thing with Scotch. Really? If this is true they are guilty of poisoning their Scotch drinking customers.

Some things make you scratch your head.

I saw an article earlier today that said they were putting cheap booze in high end bottles.

I saw this news article yesterday and started to send you an email about the coincidence…but you beat me to it. Truth, as they say, can indeed be stranger than (or at least as strange as) fiction.

Saw it on last nights news. They were accused of selling cheaper booze for the good stuff, but they didn’t say what the substitutions were. Glad I don’t do there.

I’ve heard of this before. I remember my grandfather telling me about bootlegging and the depression. They would cut liquor with other chemicals to stretch the product and reduce costs. Dangerous, deadly, crazy but true-

CBS this morning reported on this today – is nothing sacred?

That explains the headaches. Thanks, now I know.

I guess it’s a good thing I don’t drink when I’m out (I’m usually the designated driver) and when I do I’m picky. I’ve been to a few restaurants where I was pretty sure they were watering the booze.

I checked the list. Our TGIFs (not that Hubby and I do there–too crowded) wasn’t on the list but son’s was, as well as all the towns surrounding us. Lots of places up where my daughter lives in Northwest Jersey. Wow.
