Plugging Holes in the Science of Forensics

There is an excellent article in the New York Times today about the inefficiencies and inadequacies of some forensic science techniques and the efforts underway to standardize them. The issues of what techniques are useful, accurate, reproducible, and widely accepted have dogged forensic science since it’s beginnings and these same issues remain very much alive today.
